Moving

We will be moving on our land in August. We will live in a small building or a camper if we can find one to live in while me and Dear Husband build our house ourselves. We will build an outer shell and go from there.

Once we get on the land me and the children will also get things together to get us some chickens, goats and Jersey cow. Praying things work to the best for our family.

I also want to learn of different dry good places and things to get a hold of. Gloria

What a wonderful Day

Its such a wonderful day here in Florida. Nice and cool but I am sure it will be hot by the time noon gets here.  I am sitting here wishing I had about 3 women to help me pack up this place. LOL. We are trying to pack and declutter.  What a mess but we wont have half as much stuff when I am done for sure.

We are excited to get moved. Even though we wont have the money for animals for a while. The Lord will provide. We are really trying to figure out what to do and how. We will live in an RV for a while Maybe or stay in tents and build something quick and small to protect us from the weather etc.

I have to get some canning things. I am looking for the things we will need to survive and use on a daily basis to take with us.

I am also looking for any homeschool books for grade five and up to 9th.  I am interested in rod and staff, Mcgruffy, I am looking for a basic english program for my son who is dyslexic, as well as reading. I need to find test to test them for their grade levels.  I will need also history and science books for 5,6,7, 8 grade. If you have any you can part with please let me know.

God Bless

Gloria

Update on our progress and Goals

A nice warm day here in Florida.  We are so excited to tell everyone about our news.  We found and bought 33 acres instead of 4.  For a very good price in Linden Tenn.  We will be going up in a week to figure where we are going to build our workshop/house to stay in till the real house is totally done. Clear some things out and  Build an animal stall and possible wooden fence for some goats for the start.  We may work on a chicken Coop as well.   We hope to be living there by the summer Lord willing.  We will be looking for animals for food and pets.  And to raise and sell.

We may have a barn Raising once we get moved on the land.  Please pray for our progress and me learning alot of different things.  I know alot but sure have alot to learn.

Gloria

Miniture Jersey Cows& Goats

We are really set on the thought of having Mini Jerseys as our family meat and milk production.  I have heard alot about them and would love to have 2 heifers and one bull.  Just not sure we could afford them at this time.  Cause of our Land space these cows would be great for what we need and wouldnt need as much land as the full size ones.   I am still thinking on the goats we want on the farm as well.  I really like the Mini Nubians. But I cant find True Mini Nubians between here and Tenn.  So what do I do?  Any information would be welcome. Thank you again.  Gloria

I will add more later.  Gloria Davis

                         Goals-Continued

Another day.  I want to learn more on Fermenting Foods.  I have a desire to learn more about keifer and what I can use it in for our health.  I know how to make it and have the Grains.  I will use it with the raw milk I get from my cows and goats once I have them as well. Right now I use some with regular milk I buy from the store.  I will be broke soon from that.  LOL

I am looking for a good Bread Mixer and Want to know more about Flours and etc.  Dont get me wrong I know how to cook. But there is alot of different flours etc out there on the market.  I want to learn the difference and what and why to use certain ones.  Any bread makers out there please message me sometimes.  I could sure use a few teachers.

Canning.  I want to know some of the things people can and some good recipes.  I gonna get me a canner and start doing some this spring when I can buy produce by the bushel.  Until we can grow most our own on our homestead.  Will write again soon.  Gloria
