Well, It's Saturday Somewhere in the World

....Or maybe it's Monday. We had to rip the transmission apart on the BioBeast (our F-350 crewcab/family vehicle), and that took four days of our week. Joyously, it's back together, and Dave is still home till this coming Friday due to a rearrangement of his work schedule. Now that we're done scampering hither and yon for parts, I can catch up on my weekend blogging.
As I mentioned before, my grandfather completed in the area of 100 oil paintings in the 10 years he worked actively at his art. Included are many scenes with an English atmosphere about them - some of them from the UK, others that maybe just feel that way because that was where he was from. Here's an unknown village pond, complete with ducks.
I had the fun of surprising my Grandma for her birthday this weekend - with a laser print of one of her favourite paintings. Granddad gave it away to an old friend who admired it, not realizing Grandma's attachment to it. However, my intrepid uncle got a photo of it and archived it among the 70 or 80 others he's managed to collect.
The kids have a song in the works for podcasting, we just haven't gotten all the tracks laid yet. It should be up at Faith Roots.... Oy, before the month is out. 'Tis the busy season in our garden, and that trumps other recreation.

That is awesome! That was great of you and your Uncle to do this for your Grandmother. Is your Grandfather still living?
Do you ever watch britcom's on PBS on Saturday nights? They often show scenes from old England that may help you relate more to your Grandfather's childhood. Also, there's James Herriot's books and dvd.
Have a great day!
Blessings,
~Farrah
