Cold Rain

I should be pluckier than this. I should not be sitting here hiding indoors. I should be out in the 8 degree weather, planting shelterbelt trees in the rain. This is the perfect weather for moving trees.

But, no. I'm being a chicken. Yesterday, in the 20 degree heat, the wind was hitting 70 km/hr. (Not miles per hour.) The house was rattling. My mom reported that their canvas temporary shed was all ripped and flapping about, even in their well-treed yard.

Today, the wind is still up, though about half as strong. I don't get it. It looks like it should be still and drizzly, but no, it's gusty and yucky. Ahhhh, spring. Oh, well, we don't have to feel bad about taking the time to get a podcast recorded for tomorrow. We can just look out the wet window while we sing like the birds of the forest.

While I think of it, I posted a few home-finishing photos over at my other HSB blog. We actually have an almost-finished basement room - oh, the excitement!
