It's a Zoo Here

Well, if you were thinking maybe I had nothing to write home about this
last week, it's actually quite the opposite. I haven't had a spare
moment to collect my thoughts.
We were in Winnipeg over the weekend for a family wedding. We came home
to the Attack of the Monster Cucumber. Ten gallons of cukes later, I'm
up to my ears in pickling. On the to-do list today:
- Brave the sinister depths of The Garage to locate treasure in the form of mason jars.
- Run to town (drive, actually, because I need to not take all day, and I'm not a fast runner) and get more vinegar, etc.
- Pick the rest of the peas, if possible, and load their ornery little selves into the freezer.
- Convince the Zoo Creatures (aka children) not to eat all the peas while we're hunting them down.
- Convince the Zoo Creatures it's still worthwhile for them to help
out even if they aren't there for the primary purpose of filling their
gullets. At least, convince them it's not worthwhile not to pitch in.
...And probably several other things I'm currently blocking out because I just can't... (ahem).... process it all.
Home canning folk everywhere are groaning; the rest of you are going, "Huh?"
Never mind, no time! I'm late, I'm late, I'm late! For a very important giant pail full of Giant Killer Garden Produce!

We're in the same pickle, whoops I mean same boat. Sorry I haven't gotten back to you on the honey, we haven't been anywhere due to finances and gardening. I'm already giving cucumbers away because we have so many. Now if those onery tomatoes would just ripen!!!

And can I have some of your cucumbers? Mine are woeful. After a strangely unBritish heatwave, it is now all dark and cold and damp again. And they don't like it one little bit :0(
My tomatoes are ripening though, so that's something!
