A Look back at 2008!

11:00, Thursday, January 1, 2009 .. 1 comments .. Link

As I look back at 2008,  it's hard to believe a whole year has passed.  I'm reminded of all the memories that have taken place throughtout the year.  Let's start off with my husband:  JP, is still employed for St. Vincent Hospital for now and we hope it stays that way!  When JP is not tinkering around outside on little projects you may find him at a tractor show or covered bridge festival. His dream one day is to have his own antique tractor that he can restore at his leasure.  Who know's maybe 2009 will be his year!

Next, will move on to our little girl!  KP, is growing and sprouting into a young lady!  Yes, she is eleven years old, sixth grade and thinks she knows everything!!! KP is enjoying her homeschool co-op in Carmel.  She loves to draw, play piano, & ride horses. Over the summer she was invloved with 4-H.  She eneterd chickens, a photography project, and a fine art charcoal drawing. She did very well in all areas. She is trying her hand at basketball this winter, which I think she'll enjoy.

Next is our son: KWP, is nine years old and in the third grade. KWP likes to play Lego's, boardgames, and spend time at home.  He's been active this year with Boy Scouts and mini 4-H.  KWP entered a collections project, baking item, and a craft.  Did very well!  He can't wait to enter his chickens this up coming summer.  KWP excited about taking the Hunter Education class starting January of 2009, so he can get involved with archery.  We have been very blessed to part of a wonderful Christian homeschool 4-H group.  The children have had a blast with the other members.

Lastly about me:  (Mom), Keeping up with my health issues is always a challenge.  I enjoy just being a  wife, mom, homemaker, and manning the homestead.  I get pure enjoyment out of homeschooling.  We are so blessed to be a part of wonderful church and make friendships with several families.

May each and everyone have a Blessed Year in 2009!

Daily Prayer for our children!

I plan on adding a special prayer to my blog for our children on a weekly basis.

Salvation

Lord, let salvation spring up within my children, that they may obtain the salvation that is in Christ Jesus, with eternal glory.

(Isaiah 45:8, 2 Timothy 2:10)

Recipe for Good Living

I ran across this recipe in a magazine and loved it so much I wanted to share with others!

Take a cup of kindness, mix it well with love, Add a lot of patience and faith in God above.

Sprinkle very generously with joy and thanks and cheer, and you'll have lots of "angel food" to feast on all the year.

Blessing's,

Heidi

Christmas 2008!

09:38, Friday, December 26, 2008 .. 0 comments .. Link

It's hard to believe another Christmas has passed.  Every year we celebrate Christmas Eve with my husbands family.  It's always nice to see nieces, nephews, sister & brother-in-laws, and many more.  There are 33 of us in the family.  Nice size family!  There is always plenty to eat.  We exchange gifts with one another.  It's fun to watch the children open gifts from different relatives.

Christmas Day!

Our children woke us up at 6:30a.m. to open gifts.  To early for my husband and I!  But we manage to rise to the occasion!  We had a nice morning with each other.  The children took down their stockings by the fireplace, then they proceeded to pass out gifts. We each take turns opening one gift at a time.  We enjoy seeing what each person was given.  Once we finished, the children started to play board games while I made homemade cinnamon muffins. Yum!  Afterwards, we hung out in the living room with one another till it was time to leave for grandpas house.  We spent the afternoon with grandparents and family.  We exchanged gifts and ate a lovely afternoon meal. Afterwards we drove out to my brothers grave and put a wreath on his stone that my children and I had made for him.

The day passed very quickly, but was nice.

A few days before Christmas..

Weve had a busy week, my husband is off the week of Christmas and it has been nice to spend time together.  We finished up our shopping, helped my mother-in-law get prepared for thirty-three family members to arrive on Christmas Eve at her house, had some friends and family come over on seperate nights for dinner and fellowship during the holidays and made homemade fudge and took our friends to the airport today.  I'm ready to relax and rest on Christmas day.   Wishing you and your family a Blessed and Merry Christmas!

Busy Holiday Weekend!

07:42, Monday, December 15, 2008 .. 0 comments .. Link

What a weekend, Friday we went shopping and to my husbands Christmas Party, had a nice meal and evening with co-workers.  Saturday, we had a family Christmas get together on my Dad's side of the family. It was nice to see aunts, uncles and cousins I had not seen in a while.  We had a nice meal, fellowship and exchanged gifts.  My cousin sang a Christmas song. I read the Christmas story from the Bible in addition to reading the Legend of the Candy Cane to the children, which they liked. Sunday went to church and then afterwards went to visit my aunt and uncle who are in the hospital at this time.  Please pray for him as he had a heart attack, in addition to cancer, and diabetes.  Uncle has a lot going againts him at this time.

We had a busy weekend!
