Hair of the Week

Inspired by She Does Hair (thanks Chas, for sending me there!) I have been fixing up my girls' hair every single day this week!  I didn't think Baby Girl even had enough hair to fix up, but I've been pleasantly surprised by what I can do there.  It's still pretty limited, but in 6 months we should be doing quite a bit.  And she is SO GOOD about leaving it alone once it's done.  She hasn't removed a single band, bow or clippy yet.

I have taken photos of them every day, mostly for my own reference, but I want to share one from each of them this week.  I am going to restrict myself to just one per girl, otherwise we could end up with an all hair blog really quickly.  So here are my favorites from this week:

I had two different women comment on how much hair Baby has while she had it like this:

And this is Big Girl's 'do for today.  Each of the 4 small ponies is done in a flip through/knot/bug and then another one for the full pony at the bottom.  I also broke down and trimmed a full inch off of her bangs.  We'll just wait until she's older to grow them long.  Or maybe she'll always wear them.

I just wanted to share and give CJ the respect he deserved...

Today my daughter had to put her cat CJ down.  She adopted him 3 years ago when he was 8 years old, he had deformed feet and actually flipped his paw over the other way on both front feet when he walked and walked on 1/2 his front legs, it was the most bizzare thing I ever seen, it looked like it was very painful, but it wasn't the vet even said he was in no pain walking like that.  Well at the age of 12 about 3 weeks ago he stopped eating altogether, she tried everything, canned cat food, people food, ice cream, etc. He was a spoiled cat and love "people" food, but he went from 11 lbs to 8 lbs.  So last night she took CJ to the vet and he has a tumor at his throat and one at his heart, the one at his throat he was unable to swallow.. SO SAD.. so tonight at 5:45 he was given to God to take care of.  They came to our home and burried him in our garden, next to 2 of our cats and our beloved Sheena.  I just thought I would share.. It is sooo hard to lose animals.  So CJ is up in heaven and feeling no pain or suffering.

Blessings,

Lisa

Knoebels

Right before we left from our camping trip, I snapped some pictures of our campsite at Knoebels, I thought I would share some..

This is looking right over the fence at our campsite.  It is a creek that they use to fill their huge pool for the summer.

This is the iron bridge we walk over to get to the park, it's only about a 30 second walk for us before we hit the rides around the corner..

Here is my honey walking back to the camp site. Notice he is wearing a sweatshirt it was only in the mid 60's most of the week and it's usually in the 80's.

Here is our campsite as we were tearing it down that morning.

And here it is all the way at the end of the site next to ours, we rented both sights for the week, we had 3 tents put up before everybody left besides the camper.  It was a lot of fun..

Soon I want to share the pictures of the RED DEER FARM we had gone to, that was alot of fun also.

Have to run, and do a little "coupon shopping" shortly, so I need to go get my sales circulars and my coupons.
Have a great day my friends.

Roger is home from the hospital and we are praising God that he is doing fine, he will need to go in for blood work and he also has to give himself an injection 2 times a day but at least he is home.  We are both so happy and also exhausted, we plan on taking a few days of doing nothing and then gradually getting back into a routine.

For those on the "boards" thanks for coming here and checking in on Roger, it means a lot to both of us, hopefully the board will be up and running again soon...

A big thank you and lots of hugs for those who were praying on our behalf, prayer is an amazing thing!!

Blessings, Joann

Just Stay

A nurse took the tired, anxious serviceman to the bedside.

'Your son is here,' she said to the old man.

She had to repeat the words several times before the patient's eyes opened.

Heavily sedated because of the pain of his heart attack, he dimly saw the young uniformed Marine standing outside the oxygen tent. He reached out his hand. The Marine wrapped his toughened fingers around the old man's limp ones, squeezing a message of love and encouragement.

The nurse brought a chair so that the Marine could sit beside the bed. All through the night the young Marine sat there in the poorly lighted ward, holding the old man's hand and offering him words of love and strength. Occasionally, the nurse suggested that the Marine move away and rest awhile..

He refused. Whenever the nurse came into the ward, the Marine was oblivious of her and of the night noises of the hospital - the clanking of the oxygen tank, the laughter of the night staff members exchanging greetings, the cries and moans of the other patients.

Now and then she heard him say a few gentle words. The dying man said nothing, only held tightly to his son all through the night.

Along towards dawn, the old man died. The Marine released the now lifeless hand he had been holding and went to tell the nurse. While she did what she had to do, he waited.

Finally, she returned. She started to offer words of sympathy, but the Marine interrupted her.

'Who was that man?' he asked.

The nurse was startled, 'He was your father,' she answered.

'No, he wasn't,' the Marine replied. 'I never saw him before in my life.'

'Then why didn't you say something when I took you to him?'

'I knew right away there had been a mistake,

but I also knew he needed his son, and his

son just wasn't here.

When I realized that he was too sick to tell

whether or not I was his son,

knowing how much he needed me, I stayed.'

The next time someone needs you ...... just be there. Stay.

Hee is a picture of the counter top put in

Here is one of the L looking at the door and fire place where we will come in

And here is a view looking towards the front door, we still have the back splash, the oven to get in, and of course the floor to do and to paint, but it's coming along slowly but surely.

I now have many things on the counters and my things put away, if I have time today I will take a few shots of  "stuff" on the counter tops..LOL

Have a nice day..
