For Today…December 22nd 2008
Outside my Window… The temp is a mere 13* , the sky is grey, but the sun is shinning through with vengence. The wind is blowing with a mighty gust. The dogs are huddled against the back of the house to stay warm and out of the wind. The horses are standing inside the barn facing the sun to warm themselves and the cats are protecting the hay and staying warm within it. heehee
I am thinking…of so much that my head is spinning.
From the learning rooms…. we are reading The Christmas Letter from Jesus, and thinking of ways that we can change our look Christmas. Oh don't get me wrong, we love Christmas. I just want to teach my children (and it is never to late) to GIVE during this holiday and not so much long to receive. I believe that my children were given a BIRTHDAY where we celebrate THEM and this time of year should be spent celebrating the birth of our savior. I have felt this way in my heart for a long long time and have always pushed it away because I was made to feel like scruge. IT is time I share my WHOLE heart with my children so that maybe they too will see the true meaning of the birth of their savior and share it with their children as well.
I am thankful for… the strength the Lord has given me to stand for what I believe.
From the kitchen… I can hear someone going for a glass of tea and a Christmas cookie. hehee and they think I don't know.
I am wearing…brown leggings, (ohh they are so warm and comfy) and an over sized t-shirt, thick warm comfy socks and my lap quilt that was given to me through a swap. Ahhhhh all so comfy.
I am reading…"Preparing My Heart for Advent: and Ragweed by Avi
I am hoping…that all my friends around the world and all of my extended family members are warm, fed, and blessed beyond belief.
I am creating…several fleece hats and scarves for holiday gifts.
I am hearing… the heat running, (praise you Lord for this comfort) the wind blowing and the clicking of the computer keyboard. Ahhhh quiet!
Around the house… not a creature is stiring., not even a mouse!
One of my favorite things this time of year is singing and hearing Christmas songs about baby Jesus, songs that glorify the Lord and driving around looking at the beautiful Nativity scenes and hearing the laughter of the children.
I am praying for…all those people who don't have heat, family close by to laugh with and share their hearts with. my extended family members I can't be with right now, my friends and their families, and all those who don't know Jesus! May God bless each and every one of you! .
A Few Plans For The Rest Of The Week…finishing the organization of all the totes spread here and there and putting them down on the storage shelves, cleaning up the whole office so I can do something with these walls. Sharing the Love of Jesus with everyone I see. Preparing my family for a day of Giving.
What I accomplished since last week…finished a quilted blanket for my daughter to give to one of her friends, made over 120 cookies to share at a cookie exchange (which I must say was a total BLAST), finished two gifts for my family and found the strength to share my true feelings with my family about the Christmas season. (Thank you Lord)

Simple Women's Daybook
![[simple-woman-daybook-large.jpg]](http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_dUrUa10NCDQ/SANSkp9X30I/AAAAAAAAATE/peRSpbqVwiA/s1600/simple-woman-daybook-large.jpg)
For Today…November 24th, 2008
Outside my Window… The temp is a mere 31* , the sky is grey, the trees are bare and there is still a bit of snow on the ground. I don't see a bird in site, nor a dog or a horse. I think everyone is hiding somewhere keeping warm from the chilly chilly night we had.
I am thinking…of catching up on laundry (gosh there has to be an end in there somewhere)
From the learning rooms…. lots of school lessons. I think we are going to start doing 'presentations' again. Seems the children can use some practice in that area. We will begin with researching an inventor, making a visual and then planning out the speach part of it. We are also starting a new Unit Study using the book "Number the Stars by Lois Lowry". We will learn more on the civil war and the areas in which it all took place. Should be an exciting week.
I am thankful for… A healing Lord., ("Lord, heal this vessel of mine, take away the symptoms of this oncoming cold and open my airways so that I make breath easily and carry on making the improvements in our home. AMEN.)... my husband, my children and my friends, my creative hands, my art. I am so thankful for my fully stocked pantry, meat in the freezer and the ability to learn to be more frugal.
From the kitchen… It is completely silent, no-one up yet to make any noise. I can smell the aroma of the pot of coffee my dear hubby started before leaving to get a load of hay. MMmm think I will go and grab a cup. :-)
I am wearing…blue pajama leggings, an green over sized t-shirt. and thick warm comfy socks. I found these leggins at the thrift store the other day and oh how I wish I could find a dozen more. Seems these are perfect for me. My legs often hurt so much during the night (A combination of neuropothy and fibro) and with the way the hug the ankle they don't climb up exposing my ankles to the cool air. I have really got to hunt some down. :-)
I am reading…"Preparing My Heart for Advent: A Spiritual Pilgrimage for the Christmas Season"
by Ann Marie Stewart, My Bible, and Numbering the Stars.
I am hoping…that all my friends around the world and all of my extended family members are warm, fed, and blessed beyond belief.
I am creating…several new postcards and ATC's for swapping (you can see these HERE ) and lots of little Christmas tree ornaments. The children and I are working on making 200 so that we can bless the children's cancer center for Christmas.
I am hearing… the heat running, the wind blowing and the clicking of the computer keyboard. Ahhhh quiet!
Around the house… not a creature is stiring., not even a mouse!
One of my favorite things is creating creating and receiving art work. Sharing the day with my family and spending time with hubby when he is off work. Hummmmm wonder what we will do today!
I am praying for…my families unity, a clean and organized house, all my friends hither and yon.
A Few Plans For The Rest Of The Week…finishing the organization of all the totes spread here and there and putting them down on the storage shelves, cleaning up the whole office so I can do something with these walls.
What I accomplished since last week…quite a few postcards and ATC's, crocheted a lot of dish cloths and pot holders, practiced my watercolor techniques. oh and lots and lots of school work!
Here is a picture thought I am sharing with you...

Have a wonderful week everyone. If you would like to read more of the Simple women's daybook entries just visit HERE.

For Today…November 17th, 2008
Outside my Window… ohhh the view is breathtaking. There is a dark dark blue sky and just over the ridge there is a country blue lining with just a hint of pink and orange. Almost like a fire's glow. The trees are outlined silhouettes. The temp is a mere 27* , but from inside the house it is just perfect.
I am thinking…of all the things I want to accomplish today. From school lessons, to art to housekeeping. Lord.... would you mind allowing us, ohhhhh, about six extra hours today, I just want to get it all done!
From the learning rooms…Today we have Bible, spelling, science, math and home ec scheduled. We may be adding a visit to the Dr office today to, if I can get M an appointment. She just hasn't been feeling well lately. Please pray for her.
I am thankful for… A forgiving Lord, a chance to start a brand new day, my husband, my children and my friends, my art and my on line buddies. For all those that have shared in swaps and bringing a smile to my face. For all things new!
From the kitchen… It is completely silent, no-one up yet to make any noise. I can smell the aroma of my hot cocoa brewing, mmmm and cinnamon scones about to become breakfast.
I am wearing…purple leggings, an over sized t-shirt. and thick warm comfy socks. Seems this is my winter attire for bed these days.
I am reading…"Preparing My Heart for Advent: A Spiritual Pilgrimage for the Christmas Season"
by Ann Marie Stewart
I am hoping…that all my friends and family a warm, fed, and blessed beyond belief.
I am creating…several new postcards and ATC's for swapping and lots of goodies for my Warm Fuzzies swap.
I am hearing… the birds screeching as they fly by, the sound of horses hooves and they walk past the office window, ... and the snoring of my wee lil pumpkin as she lays next to me in the office.
Around the house… there will laundry going, children reading, writing, and oh how I pray, Laughing... We will fill the air with a Harvest scent and Christian music to set the tone for a wonderful day. .
One of my favorite things is creating postcards and ATC's that those receiving them will enjoy. I love my Mice and acorns, mice and flowers, mice and more mice.
I am praying for…those who need warmth from the cold, my families unity, all my friends hither and yon.
A Few Plans For The Rest Of The Week…getting the car repairs finished, getting M's paperwork for Behind the wheel, creating some great art work and spending time with family and friends.
What I accomplished since last week…quite a few postcards and ATC's, a jean purse with an awesome wiener dog on it, some crocheting and painting. Lots of school work!

Outside My Window…The sun is shinning, it is only 44* (outside, and 45* inside) Oh I can't wait until they fix my heater. I love sleeping under the covers and have had the opportunity for the past four weeks but when you can't get warmed up during the day, well, that STINKS. The leaves have changed so quickly this year and most have already fallen, but to me it is such a beautiful sight.
I am thinking…about a little friend of ours who is only 5 yrs. She got her Kindergarten shots on Friday and has been terribly ill ever since. Lord, please heal her. I am also thinking of how I am going to get this dog kennel built BEFORE loosing my mind.
I am thankful for…the opportunity to share with friends all around the world with the touch of my fingertips. It really does my heart good to read others blogs, keep in touch with family and friends, and create things for my own blog. Thank you Lord for modern technology!
From the kitchen…I can smell the fresh bread baking. We are trying a new bread machine recipe today and mmmm it smells wonderful. Bimini Bread

I am hoping…that this week will be a successful school week and that we are able to meet with our friends on Thursday.

Ahhh another Monday. I woke early this morning (around 6am) and wasn't feeling to great so I decided to rest for a few more hours. I woke again at 9m and decided I had better get busy with our chores and lessons, I wanted to get this week off to a good start. Soooo, lessons are over, the chores are done (with the exception of caring for the horses which the girls are doing now) and now I have time to play. What better way to spend my play time then to update my Simple Woman's Daybook, so here it goes....
Outside My Window…The sun is shinning, it is about 73* and the view is breathtaking. The colors of Autumn surround me. Golden yellow, firebrick red, cinnamon brown and a hint of green. Ahh God's pallet is so elegant.
I am thinking…about all the things I have planned for this week. For lessons, artsy stuff, and all the friends I am going to write and catch up with.
I am thankful for…all that the Lord helped me to accomplish today. Lessons, cleaning, canning applesauce and the time I spent with my children just talking!
From the kitchen…I can smell the the cinnamon applesauce simmering in the canning pot.
I am wearing…a blue t-shirt with a prairie mouse the front, white and brown diabetic socks, and my black shorts. I really need to get some new clothes:-(
I am creating… more cupcakes, some ATC's and a few new seasonal post cards.
I am going…nowhere today.
I am reading…nothing at the moment (other than Bible study)
I am hoping…that this week will be a lot of fun for us and that we will accomplish everything we set out to do.
I am hearing…The loud sounds of my children singing as they dance around the house acting like children. :-) ahhh the wonderful sound of laughter.
Around the house…there is still work to be done but that is a never ending task. I need to do a couple more loads of laundry and then prepare dinner.

Simple Woman's Daybook

Outside My Window…well since I am writing in the evening this time there is total darkness outside my window right now. I can't even see the moon.
I am thinking…about my parents and wishing I could share my thoughts and feelings with them right now. I am going through some things with the homeschool group I was a part of, stress here at home, the pain of being so far away from my son and his wife and well, just life's things. I am sure many of you know where I am at.
I am thankful for…the Lord whom I can lean on in my times of trouble and pain.
From the kitchen…I can smell the herbal tea that I am about to consume to help rid myself of this horrible headache!
I am wearing…a black t-shirt with wild horses running across the front, red socks, and my black capri's. Gee seems a bit .... dark :-(
I am creating… a set of post cards and a set of notecards that will be packaged to sell at the visitors center.
I am going…nowhere else today. I did my grocery shopping and ran my errands for the day. Tomorrow I might go out and enjoy a day of painting in the park... not sure on that yet though.
I am reading…The old schoolhouse magazine and "Sketching Outdoors in Summer by. Jim Arnosky
I am hoping…that things will calm down around here and we can get on with planning fun activities just as a family!
I am hearing…The loud sounds of my dear husbands music as he watches one of his favorite bands on TV! Sorry honey I must be getting old but ARGH it is loud. hehehe
Around the house…the children are preparing for bed and checking to see what is on the agenda for tomorrow.
One of my favorite things…Cute MICE, Cuddly Mice, brown mice, white mice, and umm did I say Mice!! :-)
A Few Plans For The Rest Of The Week: Preparing the October calendar for school, fun activities, doctor appointments and whatever has been planned. Finishing up some artsy swaps I am in and starting the final draft of my new book.

Simple Women's Daybook

Outside My Window…this morning when I rose it was still dark and the air was filled with Fog, lots of Fog. I can hear the horses trampling about but I could not see them. The kittens were meowing outside my window, I really wanted to let them in but I knew I just couldn't. I have been breathing so much better since we put them out and I just can't afford to go backwards.
I am thinking…about all that I have planned for our first day back to school. Today is the kick-off. I have worked this morning on the final touches and look forward to a great day.
I am thankful for…the Lord allowing me to be a homeschooling mother. I love to spend the time with my children and learn right along with them.
From the kitchen…I can smell the coffee that is just about done brewing!
I am wearing…today I am wearing my orange T-shirt and my black capri's
I am creating… when school is finished I will be creating new posts on my website. I have so much to catch everyone up on.
I am going…nowhere today. Just schooling away!
I am reading…My bible, Seasons of a Mother's Heart by Sally Clarkson.
I am hoping…to get things ready for tomorrows lessons tonight so that I can play in the morning instead of waking up early to be sure I am prepared. I just want to be ready and organized. HELP ME JESUS!
I am hearing…The whirl of the ceiling fan in the master bedroom and the clicking of the keys on the keyboard. The singing of crickets and the croaking of frogs. Ahhh God is all around me!
Around the house…we have every type of fan running since the air conditioner is still not working.
One of my favorite things…Cute MICE, Cuddly Mice, brown mice, white mice, and umm did I say Mice!! :-)
