One never knows....

what your day might bring....it could start like this.....

it can't get much more embarassing than taking your dd to the dentist with no bangs and this big forehead that hasn't received sun "ever" but the rest of her face is quite tanned and have everyone dying to ask me "what in the world happened to your daughter/son's hair...yes, MOST people think Stephanie is a boy...she is 6'4" and weighs 200 pounds...the rare syndrome she has makes her features very masculine....so now can you see why her hair style is important....anything to give her a more feminine look...but now, that's out the window (for now).  Well at least this visit to the dentist she was wearing  underwear ..so I guess that could have been considered the most embarassing, but thankfully no one knew accept me.

Sorry, I got side tracked.  so we proceeded to the dentist and I just put up with all the stares and whispers.  Thankfully near the end of my waiting, one of the receptionists who knows me quite well said...."so, what happened to Stephanie's bangs"...thank you Jeanette ( I thought to myself)...so I proceeded to tell her and loud enough so everyone could hear and know my dilemna.....  now they could feel sorry for me instead of whispering about me and thinking that I needed to take a hairdressing course.

Afterwards I took dd to the hair salon where my other daughter works to see if they could fix it...but unfortunately, when there is NO HAIR...it's hard to fix something that's not there...so they tried to fix all the chunks taken out in the side and blend it a bit and hide it with hairclips.

Okay, I'm not talking about this anymore, I will be totally depressed....but thankfully it's JUST HAIR and it will grow back...but hopefully after the tongue lashing my dh gave his mom,(apparently, he was quite kind in how he worded his disapproval---afterall she is 91) she will NEVER touch dd hair again.  It sure was a  good thing for my MIL I didn't pick Stephanie up.   So I can almost guarantee there will be very few (if any) up close and personal photos of Stephanie here for a while....Like Audrey says ..."poor Steph".

Of course after all this trauma I was in need of a Tim's..... so stopped for a coffee and got Steph an ice- cream and headed for home.  The kids  picked  blueberries for me...trying to keep ahead of the birds.

Spent half hour reading to the kids...then sent them outside so I could put my feet up with my tea and do my own reading.

.......and end like this.........

I just began dinner preparations when  I received a call asking if I wanted some free fruit...well, anything free is a good thing right...can you guess what I did this evening?

P.S.  Thank you Grace, Sandra and SIL for taking some of this off my hands.

Thanks for stopping by my blog and leaving a sweet comment. I appreciate your thoughts and prayers.
Once, about 25 years ago, the mother of my deceased husband offered to "TRIM" my hair. She had always cut her three son's hair so I reluctantly agreed to try to save some money. She butchered my hair. It was a man's haircut! I was mortified. To top it all off the next week I found out I was pregnant. I thought I could not have children so I was beyond thrilled about the pregnancy. But.....being pregnant with a man's haircut was...well...lets just say my ego took a bashing. I gained about 50 lbs due to toxemia so it was not a pretty sight. The good news is that in 25 years it will be a distant memory. I understand your anger as I was pretty angry myself. This too shall pass.

Poor kiddo! I can't imagine... is she terribly embarrassed? LOVE THE FRUIT. We have it here, too...

6 foot 4 inch girl??? wow. My aunt was 6 feet and 200 lbs at 12 years old. My dad - her oldest brother, was 22 or so about the time and he is 5 feet 8 inches..
