Modest dress is best;do you agree?

{ 07:19 , Saturday, December 30, 2006 } { 9 comments } { Link }

I have read much here about modest dress and behavior. I will give my thinking on this subject too.

   Some women introduce themselves as a mystery of darkness to men. In the way they dress, talk, behave or write on the web.

    The important thing for women to remember is that what you show by how you dress, talk, write or behave is what men think of you and about you. In other words, DON"T advertise what's not available from you. If you have Christian values that restricts a certain something to marriage, then DON'T go around advertising it to men you aren't married to. It is your job not to make lust easy for a man, you don't want to be responsible for this sin,you can cause.

   The style might be "skimpy dress" or the conversation might be about  "love life", but you have another code to live by if you are a Christian. DON'T tempt men where they don't need to be tempted. You can still dress today and be both modest and in style.You can have a conversation with out discussing things of a private nature and still be interesting.You can hang out with a crowd, behave like a modest woman should and still be interesting. Make sure you don't advertise just because you have seen it on TV,  seen others behaving this way who claim to be Christians or have read it in a book writen by a person claiming to be Christian.

      The Bible is the best source of advice for any of these topics. It tells us how to live, dress, behave and in all, everything we really need to know for Christian living.

     I do realize there are many women and men who might read this and will totally disagree. I am just going by what I read in the Bible as being the proper way to be modest and it is what I believe. I also realize that  birds of the same feather flock together. If you are being encouraged by a person who is not Christian then you should not listen to them. If someone claims to be a Christian it does NOT mean they are a Christian, their actions will tell the truth.Beware of satin disguised as an angel.

Two ways of looking at things

BLUE and YELLOW

In a pretty house on a hill were two windows. One window was of blue glass, and the other was of yellow glass. Two children entered the place, and looked at the view from the different windows.

"Oh!" cried he who looked through the yellow glass, "what a glorious day is this! How everything is bright with sunshine and white snow!"

"Why all seems damp and dreary to my eyes," said the other, who was looking through the blue glass. "I'm sure there is sleet falling and frost on every leaf. I see no sunshine at all."

A cheerful temper is like the yellow glass that makes everything look bright.

A peevish temper is like looking through the blue glass, which turns a beautiful day into a miserable day.

I love these words of wisdom, don't know the author.

I hope some of you that read will enjoy them also.

Words can be misread but actions can show truth.

SULKY SALLY

 Sallys sulky, somethings wrong,

 She is moping all day long.

Whats the matter? Why do you pout?

 Pray, what is it all about?

 During lesson I missed once,

 And they called me "little Dunce!"

 Silly Sally, thats your way

 Of existing every day?

 Brooding, fretting, all the day,

 Always minding what 'THEY' say.

 Foolish Sally, do not cry;

 Come, be cheerful - only try!

I do not know the author of this one, here is what I think about it.

Oh, what a lesson we can learn form this if we understand what it is saying.

Let us all be cheerful yes, lets try.

Forget the words that have cut you like a knife, for they are only words.

Pay close attention to the actions and you will see the truth.For love and friendship are not shown by words, it is the actions that matter most.

This is funny if you can picture a little girl and her cat.

A TERRIBLE SCRATCH

Oh, pussy! you naughty, ungrateful old cat,

To scratch me because I just gave you a pat

when you would not draw dolly across the floor.

I had harnessed you tight with a scarlet cord,

And had promised to give you some cream as reward,

And a couple of sardines; what could I do more?

Now dollys as light as a feather, you know,

And the carriage almost of itself will go;

Yet you would not pull at it, but tried to get loose,

And entangled youself, and the carriage upset,

And then the wheel broke, and you got in a fret;

And for your behavior there was no excuse,

Just look  how my finger is bleeding. Oh dear!

How it hurts me; it will not get well soon, I fear!

Now you are not sorry I am in such pain?

No sardines or cream you shall  have, puss, from me;

And a very long time you will find it will be before I play horses with you, puss, again.

This one did make me laugh a lot. When I was a little girl I would put doll clothes on my kittens. I would tell them where to sit in my doll stroller and if they did move, back into their spot I would put them.

Well, they would get tired of my game very soon and give me a big scratch or a bite.

I love to see children play in such a way, with no electronic stuff.

SNOWBALLING

             SNOWBALLING

The snow, the snow, the fairy snow, the pure white falling snow!

How pulses leap and hearts beat high, and cheeks with color glow,

To throw the soft white balls about, with shouts of happy glee;

And mirth and mischief, hand in hand, show friendly rivalry.

The snow, the snow, the glorious snow, in thick flakes showering down,

The city roofs, the country trees, with fair white wreaths to crown;

As falls from heaven the feathery shower upon the earth below,

How many youthful tongues exclaim, "Oh, welcome back the snow!"

I do not know the author. I saw others here with poetry, bible verses and short stories so I wanted to do that too.Call me copy cat.

I have realized that I was too eager to make new friends and in doing so I have caused some to anger. I am too open with my feelings of  love for all man kind, here, I guess.

I hope you enjoy the poem, it might help us to appreciate the snow, If we get any.
