Or is it His way of comforting me? The last verse truly resonates with me as it says, "Prone to wander, Lord, I feel it, prone to leave the God I love. Take my heart, O take and seal it, seal it for Thy courts above." Let this be my prayer. on stars"Stars" as sung by Switchfoot Maybe I’ve been the problem hundredI was browsing through the latest music selections, eyeing the lists up for songs that appeared to be clean and by bands I had not heard of. I rested upon the title, "Over My Head". It rang a bell. I selected it, listened. It was one that I recognized, but I had not recognized the name of the band: The Fray. I searched AOL's music database to see if I could listen to any of their other songs, and fortune favors the bold. ('Tis not a relevant statement, but for some reason my mind just dredged it up from unvisited depths.) The Fray had apparently had a concert broadcast through AOL recently, and I was thereby able to view the video for each of their songs, deciphering them with a separate screen of lyrics supplied by their official site. So far, what I have listened to has been fairly clean, and somewhat melancholy. It is also heavily piano-driven, something you don't find very often in today's popular music. (Well, actually, you don't find much in today's standards of popular music, but let's not get me started there.) One caveat: I wish he would open his mouth up a little bit more to pronounce some songs a little better. I'll cut him some slack, though: it is a concert, and he does happen to be playing the piano while he's singing (again, not something you see a lot of). The style reminds me somewhat of The Swift, a contemporary Christian band that features a lot of piano, but still has the soft rock sound. They keep breaking into a guitar / piano duets and solos in various parts of their songs... if this is not just a concert exclusive, and they do so on the recorded versions... I need to buy their CD. They just went through a section with just the electric guitar and the piano, and you can see the fervor with which he is playing and... hmm. I don't know. It's just powerful. Now, for the purpose I was planning to post the lyrics of this latest gem: Hundred
brokenChris Daughtry's version was spinning in my head, and I needed to find the original. Here are the lyrics. They just.. fit.. right now.
